Anthropic Signs Biggest Compute Deal Yet with Google and Broadcom as Revenue Run Rate Hits $30 Billion

April 7, 2026 – 6:00 am

In short:

Anthropic has secured approximately 3.5 gigawatts of next-generation Google TPU compute capacity via Broadcom starting in 2027, marking its largest infrastructure commitment to date. Simultaneously, Anthropic disclosed that its revenue run rate has surpassed $30 billion, more than tripling from roughly $9 billion at the end of 2025.

Anthropic announced a new agreement with Google and Broadcom, granting them access to 3.5 gigawatts of Google TPU capacity through Broadcom beginning in 2027, in addition to the 1 gigawatt already supplied in 2026.

Krishna Rao, Anthropic’s CFO, described it as "our most significant compute commitment to date", emphasizing the company’s "disciplined approach to scaling infrastructure." The majority of this new capacity will be located in the United States, aligning with Anthropic’s November 2025 commitment to invest $50 billion in American AI computing infrastructure.

Three Parties, One Infrastructure Layer:

The announcement highlights the crucial role of Broadcom as an intermediary between Google’s custom silicon and Anthropic’s training and inference workloads. Simultaneously, Broadcom signed separate agreements with Google to design and supply future TPU chips and to provide networking components for Google’s AI data racks through 2031.

This positions Broadcom as an increasingly vital node in the AI infrastructure ecosystem. Following the announcement, Broadcom shares rose approximately 3% in extended trading, reflecting investor interest in companies positioned at the physical layer of the AI stack.

Analysts at Mizuho, led by Vijay Rakesh, projected that Broadcom would record $21 billion in AI revenue from Anthropic in 2026, rising to $42 billion in 2027. These figures underscore the financial significance of this partnership.

This announcement builds on earlier disclosures regarding Anthropic’s substantial orders from Broadcom. In September 2025, Hock Tan (Broadcom CEO) revealed a mystery customer had placed an $10 billion order for custom TPU racks. Subsequently, in December 2025, he confirmed the customer was Anthropic and that an additional $11 billion order had been placed. The current announcement is the culmination of this developing partnership.
