AppDirect has acquired Toronto-based PartnerStack, the partner relationship management platform with over 138,000 B2B partners and approximately 50% market share in the PRM category. Terms were not disclosed. This deal marks AppDirect’s sixth acquisition in just twelve months, following notable acquisitions like Tackle.io, vCom Solutions, and DNE Resources.
AppDirect ($438M raised, $1.5B valuation, nearing $1B gross ARR) is building a comprehensive platform for B2B technology distribution, encompassing marketplace commerce, hyperscaler integration, advisor networks, and now partner management. PartnerStack, founded in 2015 (originally as GrowSumo) by Bryn Jones, Jonathan Mendes, Neil Chudleigh, and Luke Swanek, raised $38.2M across multiple rounds, including a $29M Series B in 2021, and graduated from Y Combinator.
Key Points:
- Market Dominance: PartnerStack commands roughly half the partner management software market with its robust platform that manages partner relationships throughout their lifecycle.
- Acquisition Strategy: This latest acquisition is part of AppDirect’s strategic move to become the central hub for all enterprise technology distribution, encompassing direct marketplaces, cloud hyperscalers, advisor recommendations, and partner referrals.
- Growth and Valuation: AppDirect has raised $438 million, achieved a valuation of $1.5 billion in 2020, and is approaching $1 billion in gross annual recurring revenue (ARR). Its ecosystem serves over 1,000 technology providers, 14,000 advisors, and 16 million subscribers.
As AppDirect CEO Nicolas Desmarais stated, "With this acquisition, we’re at the center of the underlying infrastructure powering enterprise technology purchase decisions today."
