Amazon Web Services Invests $1bn in Embedding Engineers Inside Customer Companies
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is committing $1bn to embed its own engineers inside customer companies. This move marks the first time a cloud giant has adopted a strategy initially built by Palantir, later followed by OpenAI and Anthropic.
On June 30, 2026, AWS announced it would invest this substantial sum in a new Forward Deployed Engineering unit.
