Doubling in Five Months
BYD has achieved a significant milestone in its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure efforts. The company doubled its 1,500kW charging network in just five months and aims to double it again by December.

- 10,000th Station: BYD opened its 10,000th Flash Charging station on August 28, 2026, marking a rapid expansion.
- Connector Capacity: Each connector in the network delivers up to 1,500kW, surpassing European standards.
- Target for 2026: The company aims to install 20,000 charging stations by the end of the year, requiring approximately 80 new stations daily.

European regulations, as outlined by AFIR, require a charging pool every 60km on core roads, delivering a total of 400kW by the end of 2026, increasing to 600kW by 2027. In contrast, a single BYD connector carries two and a half times the capacity of the entire European site mandated for 2027.
