California Governor and Legislators Agree on $351.7 Billion State Budget
California Governor Gavin Newsom and top Democratic legislators have reached an agreement on a $351.7 billion state budget. The budget extends sales tax to prewritten software downloaded from the web. This new tax is projected to bring in $900 million for the state and an additional $1.1 billion for local governments, beginning in fiscal year 2028 and annually thereafter.
