Cognizant Acquires Astreya for $600 Million

Cognizant has agreed to acquire Astreya, a San Jose-based IT managed services firm specializing in AI infrastructure and data center operations, for approximately $600 million. The deal, Cognizant’s fourth major acquisition in 18 months, is designed to strengthen its AI builder strategy.
Cognizant’s CEO Ravi Kumar S stated:
"By acquiring Astreya and its proprietary AI tooling and production-grade infrastructure platform… we will be even better-positioned to help clients architect their platform-led AI systems and operationalize them at scale."

Founded in 2001, Astreya boasts over 2,200 IT professionals across 33 countries, focusing on data center management, network operations, cloud infrastructure, and digital workplace services for large enterprises.
Its service offerings include:
- Network and data center management with 24/7 monitoring
- IT asset lifecycle management
- Cloud infrastructure services including migration and optimization
- AI-driven automation tooling described as ‘AI-first’ managed services
Astreya positions itself not just as an outsourcer but as a technology platform for infrastructure operations, developing proprietary AI agents and automation frameworks.
While revenue figures vary (approximately $560 million according to ZoomInfo and RocketReach), the acquisition price reflects the value Cognizant places on Astreya’s tools and customer relationships.
