Fireflies Launches Voice Agents for Screening, Sales, and Support Calls

Fireflies has launched Voice Agents that can handle screening interviews, sales discovery, and support calls, reporting over 40,000 conversations across 2,100 organizations in 97 countries.

Recruitment and candidate evaluation systems are classified as high risk under Annex III of the EU AI Act, with obligations deferred to December 2027. However, the transparency duty and GDPR apply immediately, requiring providers to inform users that they are interacting with an AI system.

One customer reported that approximately a third of their new hires started with a Voice Agent. Fireflies claims its agents have saved recruiters 800 hours. The agents support 30 languages and run on usage-based credits.

While the EU regulates these practices, the focus is on disclosing AI involvement rather than restricting usage. The AI-on-AI debate continues as tools evolve to detect and prevent hiring discrimination.
