Hark Debuts AI Agent a Year Before Its First Devices
Hark Pro, an AI agent developed by Brett Adcock's Hark, has been released, offering services such as grocery shopping, booking cars, paying bills, and managing lunch cards, all free with $20 and $100 monthly tiers. This comes a year before the company's first hardware devices are set to arrive in 2027.
Meta launched a similar agent at the same price points four weeks ago. Hark Pro operates on the web and as mobile apps, with a cloud system called Handoff enabling it to remember user inputs and manage multiple browsers simultaneously.
Key Features:
- Free Plan: Includes basic services like refilling a child's lunch card.
- Paid Tiers: $20 and $100 per month for enhanced features.
- Cross-Platform: Works on web, iOS, and Android.
- Handoff System: Retains information across browsers and devices.
- Action Buttons: Automatically pay bills or cancel services.
The company's hardware devices, designed by former Apple lead Abidur Chowdhury, are expected to be "portable" and useful in both home and workplace settings. AT&T will provide cellular service for these devices.
Competition:
Meta's Muse offers similar capabilities with pricing tiers matching Hark Pro. OpenAI is also launching a $300 speaker designed by Jony Ive's studio in 2027, joining the growing AI agent market.
However, regulations around payment authentication in Europe remain unclear for AI agents, with Hark not confirming availability on that continent.
