This partnership represents a significant step in the European Physical AI ecosystem. NEURA, a German robotics company, raised up to $1.4bn in June with a $7bn valuation, aims to produce millions of cognitive robots by 2030. SECO, an Italian embedded-computing firm listed under IOT in Milan, specializes in computer-on-module boards and edge AI software.

About SECO:

SECO generates revenue across various sectors including industrial automation, medical devices, transport, energy, defense, and vending machines. While its first-half revenue remained relatively stable at €98.8m compared to the previous year, it demonstrated growth in edge computing (€91.4m, up 6%) and its Clea software framework (€7.4m, up 12%). SECO’s gross margin improved to 54%, showcasing its ability to navigate memory price fluctuations.

Technological Sovereignty and Global Collaboration:

The announcement highlights technological sovereignty and a resilient European supply chain while acknowledging that Qualcomm supplies the Dragonwing processors. NEURA CEO David Reger emphasizes the collaboration between European industrial expertise and global technologies, defining a clear yet narrower claim of sovereignty.
