Pixel 11 Launches Gemini Intelligence Weeks Before Apple’s Siri Update
Google has launched the Pixel 11 line, featuring Gemini Intelligence at its core, weeks before Apple ships a rebuilt Siri on the same Google models. The Pixel 11 series includes the Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, and 11 Pro Fold.

Gemini Intelligence is designed to understand user context across apps, connecting messages, calendar events, maps, and other Google services to suggest or perform actions. Unlike a separate chatbot app, it operates within the operating system itself.
A Competitive Landscape
This positions Google in direct competition with one of its largest AI clients—Apple, which is integrating Gemini into Siri for similar purposes. While Rick Osterloh, Google’s devices chief, believes Pixel and iPhone will continue to diverge, both companies aim to revolutionize user interaction with computers.

The launch coincides with rising memory costs, impacting both phone prices and data center AI applications, as RAM prices have surged from $2.80/GB to $12/GB. This cost squeeze extends beyond smartphones, affecting budget-friendly devices like the $599 Mac Mini.
