QIZ Security Teams Up with Google Cloud to Strengthen Quantum-Safe Encryption

QIZ Security has announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud aimed at empowering enterprises to prepare for the looming quantum cryptography threat. This collaboration combines QIZ’s cryptographic posture management platform with Google Cloud’s robust infrastructure and security solutions, offering organizations a comprehensive view of their cryptographic risks across hybrid environments as regulatory deadlines approach.

A Race Against Time: Protecting Data from Quantum Computers

The need for this partnership is driven by the rapid advancements in quantum computing technology. As QIZ Security highlights, quantum computers pose a significant risk to widely used public-key cryptographic algorithms like RSA and elliptic curve cryptography. This has led to concerns about "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks where adversaries intercept and store encrypted data, waiting for the computational power of quantum machines to unlock it.

Accelerating Quantum Migration: Google’s Aggressive Timeline

Recently, Google Cloud has demonstrated its commitment by accelerating its internal migration to post-quantum cryptography, targeting 2029—well ahead of US government benchmarks. This shift is supported by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)’s standardization of post-quantum algorithms like ML-KEM and ML-DSA in August 2024.

Regulatory bodies are also pressing for change. The NSA’s CNSA 2.0 suite mandates quantum-resistant algorithms for new national security acquisitions from January 2027, while the European Union has set a roadmap for critical infrastructure resilience by 2030.

QIZ’s Platform: Simplifying Quantum Migration

QIZ’s cryptographic posture management platform offers a solution to the complex migration process. It provides:

  • Enterprise-wide cryptographic discovery
  • Identification of quantum-vulnerable encryption
  • Risk prioritization and migration roadmapping
  • Support for ongoing governance and regulatory compliance

By integrating with Google Cloud environments, QIZ enables security teams to gain a unified view of their cryptographic posture across distributed systems.

Targeted Sectors: Financial Services, Government, and Critical Infrastructure

The collaboration is particularly relevant for regulated sectors where data security is paramount. These include financial services, government agencies, telecommunications, and critical infrastructure companies, all facing the challenge of ensuring data protection in an era of quantum computing.
