Rayon Raises €10M to Integrate AI and 3D into Its Interior Design Software

Rayon, a Paris-based startup, has secured €10 million in Series A funding from Partech as the lead investor, with Northzone, Foundamental, and Seedcamp also participating. This brings Rayon's total funding to nearly €16 million.

The startup's browser-based drawing tool, accessible through a web browser, has already garnered 4 million drawings and boasts notable clients like Virgin Atlantic. The platform allows interior designers to import PDFs, images, and DWG files, enabling them to work on projects from initial layouts to final plans in a single, integrated space.

Key Features and Plans:

  • 3D Mode: The funds will enhance the 3D mode, incorporate additional AI features within the drawing tool, and intensify sales efforts.
  • AI Integration: Rayon already employs AI tools, including one that converts scanned or photographed floor plans into editable drawings, a furniture and fixture block generator, and upcoming AI-powered 3D functionality.
  • Collaboration: Multiple users can edit drawings simultaneously, sharing them via simple links.
  • Competitive Advantage: Rayon differentiates itself from competitors like Autodesk, Trimble, and Nemetschek by focusing on browser-based software and AI integration tailored to interior design needs.

As stated by Stanislas Chaillou, co-founder & COO/CPO of Rayon, "Interior design needs its own approach to AI, not a borrowed one. We’re building ours directly into the drawing experience, while staying connected to the AI tools designers already use."

The company was established in 2021 by Chaillou and Bastien Dolla, previously of Spacemaker, an AI design startup acquired by Autodesk in 2020.
