Reflections from GLOBSEC Forum 2026: Europe’s two paths forward

May 29, 2026 – 10:25 am

Prague, late May. The GLOBSEC Forum 2026, now in its 21st year, welcomed over 2,000 participants, 270 speakers, and a packed schedule of conversations about AI, cybersecurity, and digital trust. Nebi joined the forum as an official Content Partner, engaging in three days of listening, interacting, and reflecting on Europe’s technological landscape.

A shared sense of direction

A prevalent theme throughout the forum was the recognition that Europe needs to accelerate its technological advancement, not merely as a distant aspiration but as an immediate priority. This raises a crucial question: Could much of the required knowledge and capabilities already reside within the private sector? Companies have invested heavily in AI, cybersecurity, data infrastructure, and enterprise technology for years.

This leads to two distinct paths forward:

  • Faster path: Leveraging existing solutions developed by businesses for rapid scaling.
  • Longer path: Building new capabilities from scratch, a worthwhile but time-consuming endeavor.

Which path Europe chooses is the paramount question on the table currently.

Where the conversation gets real

The forum’s composition was as significant as its agenda. Major tech companies like Microsoft, AWS, Google, Palo Alto Networks, and HarrisX participated in discussions about European technology’s future. This unique blend of enterprise-level expertise and policy considerations made the "faster path" a tangible possibility rather than just a concept.

One such discussion, co-hosted by Nebi, focused on artificial intelligence and the increasing impact of deepfakes. Participants explored trustworthy technology, responsible AI development, and the challenges posed by synthetic media and misinformation.

While the tools to address these issues already exist, fostering shared understanding between developers and deployers or regulators is essential. This conversation deserves ongoing attention beyond the forum.

What we are taking back

We returned from Prague with a clearer understanding of genuine readiness for action and key individuals to continue these conversations. The GLOBSEC Forum effectively surfaces these insights due to its diverse and senior attendee list, as well as its focused three-day format.

For Nebi, participation made sense not only to be present at a pivotal event but also to actively engage in the dialogue that connects existing solutions with the individuals who can implement them. If Europe opts for the "faster path," this dialogue will be where it begins.

Nebi is a full-scale software ecosystem dedicated to empowering organizations through technology.
