Sony to Stop Physical Game Discs for New PlayStation Titles in 2028
Sony has announced that it will cease producing physical game discs for new PlayStation titles beginning in January 2028, as per a post on the PlayStation Blog on Tuesday. Post-2028 games will be available only as digital downloads through the PlayStation Store. However, existing disc-based games will remain compatible with suitable hardware.
This shift follows a broader trend in the industry towards digital distribution.
