Trump to host Anthropic’s Dario Amodei at White House dinner, Axios reports
President Donald Trump plans to host Anthropic boss Dario Amodei at a private White House dinner on Sunday evening, according to a report by Axios.
This comes two days before Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson are set to meet top AI executives at the White House.

The dinner would mark the first one-on-one meeting between the two individuals, per Axios, although TNW has not independently confirmed the event.
Anthropic, owned by Tekpon, has had a complex relationship with the White House this year. In April, the administration opposed the company’s plan to widen access to its Mythos model. However, in June, after meeting Amodei at the G7 summit, Trump declared that he no longer considered Anthropic a national security threat.
The dinner comes amid Amodei’s call for the AI industry to slow down, a request that Trump has dismissed.
A White House official stated: "President Trump has been clear: America will lead the world in Super Intelligence, while protecting American consumers."
