The Helsinki-based AI cloud infrastructure company formerly known as DataCrunch has raised $117 million in new funding. The round comprises equity led by Lifeline Ventures, with participation from byFounders, Tesi, and Varma, alongside debt financing from a group of Nordic financial institutions.
The company plans to use the capital to accelerate product development, expand into the UK, US, and Asia, and hire more than 100 people by year-end. CEO and founder Ruben Bryon expressed strong momentum and the intent to "double down on development and accelerate expansion."
Key Highlights:
- Financial Strength: Verda is already cash-flow positive with an annualized revenue run rate exceeding $60 million in Q1 2026.
- Unique Positioning: The company offers vertically integrated AI cloud infrastructure, handling servers, data centers, and developer tools.
- Sustainability: Data centers in Finland are powered by 100% renewable energy from hydroelectric and wind sources.
- Customer Base: Verda's customers include Nokia, 1X, ExpressVPN, and Freepik.
- Nvidia Partnership: The company holds Nvidia Preferred Partner status, granting them access to the latest GPU hardware.
This round stands out for Verda’s strong financial position at such an early stage, marking a contrast with rivals in the capital-intensive infrastructure market. Since its seed round of $13 million and Series A of $64 million (both raised in 2026), Verda has shown impressive growth.
