"Wonderful Raises $550 Million Series C to Scale the AI Operating System for the Enterprise" — Wonderful
Index Ventures, IVP, Vine Ventures, 9Yards, and Bessemer Venture Partners also invested in this round. Insight Partners has now led three of Wonderful’s funding rounds.
The remarkable part is the speed at which the company has grown:
- Headcount: Wonderful boasts 650 employees across more than 35 markets, a significant jump from the 350 employees they had in March. They projected 900 employees by year-end in their previous announcement.
- Establishment: Though headquartered in Amsterdam, Israeli technology press refers to Wonderful as an Israeli company, highlighting the importance of its founders’ past experience there.
This European context is crucial. In line with upcoming European regulations:
- The Data Act bans cloud switching charges from January 12, 2027.
- Roey Lalazar, Wonderful’s CTO, emphasizes that enterprises should not be forced to replace existing systems to become AI-native.
Bar Winkler, CEO of Wonderful, goes further, stating that without a shared layer, AI risks recreating the sprawl of traditional SaaS.
This round raises questions about where the value lies, particularly regarding Europe’s cloud dependency and the role an AI operating layer could play in shaping the future of tech on the continent.
