Jane Street and Situational Awareness are leading a funding round for FluidStack, according to Bloomberg. The AI data center startup is raising approximately $1 billion with a target valuation of $18 billion.
FluidStack, an AI data center startup building compute infrastructure specifically for AI companies, has reportedly secured talks to raise $1 billion at an eye-popping $18 billion valuation, as per Bloomberg. Trading firm Jane Street and AGI-focused fund Situational Awareness, co-led by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, are set to spearhead the investment. Morgan Stanley is acting as advisor.
This latest round follows a previous attempt in December 2025, where FluidStack aimed to raise $700 million at a $7.5 billion valuation, though that round did not receive formal confirmation. The significant boost in valuation can be attributed to a substantial data center partnership with Anthropic.
In November 2025, FluidStack secured a $50 billion contract to build custom facilities in Texas and New York tailored for Anthropic’s AI workloads. This landmark deal solidified FluidStack’s position in the US market after its relocation from the UK and marked a significant moment for the company.
Founded in 2017 at Oxford University, FluidStack shifted its focus to AI infrastructure following ChatGPT’s release in late 2022. Their revenue skyrocketed from $1.8 million in 2022 to $66.2 million in 2024. Notable clients include Anthropic, Meta, and Poolside. A $200 million Series A in February 2025 further fueled their expansion, leading to a strategic partnership with the French government for a $11 billion AI infrastructure project.
With two 10-year hosting agreements with TeraWulf worth $6.7 billion in contracted revenue set to begin in 2026, FluidStack’s future appears promising, thanks to this latest investment round.
