Anthropic: Rum Group’s $13.7bn Compute Customer

The Information reports that Anthropic, an unnamed customer, is behind Rum Group’s substantial six-year computing contract worth $13.7bn. This information was disclosed in September 2026.

According to the report, Rum Group, the parent company of video platform Rumble, revealed in an August filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that an affiliate had signed a deal with an "unaffiliated U.S.-based third party cloud customer" for GPU access and services.

Rum Group’s filing indicates the contract is split into three equal tranches, totaling $13.7bn. The customer also received a warrant to purchase up to 50.8 million Rum Group shares at a low price, subject to meeting certain milestones.

The financing for the Georgia data center project, however, remains unclear. Rum Group stated in their SEC filing that they do not currently have financing and are exploring debt or equity options, which could significantly impact existing shareholders.

Anthropic’s growing cloud footprint

This latest agreement adds to a series of significant compute deals for Anthropic, including contracts with Google, SpaceX, Nscale, Lambda, and Riot Platforms. According to The Information, these deals total at least $14.8GW of capacity and could cost up to $517bn over the next decade.

Rumble’s acquisition of Northern Data in June 2026 brought them a substantial number of GPUs and advanced AI cloud services, further emphasizing the shift from video platform to cloud provider for Rum Group.
