Dubai Training 14,000 Companies on AI Agents by 2028
Dubai Chambers is putting more than 14,000 companies through training in agentic AI (164news.com on agentic ai), the kind of software that can perform tasks autonomously rather than simply answering questions. The initiative launched on September 1st, 2026, with courses designed for business group chairpersons and councils.
This training program is a key component of a two-year plan initiated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, in May 2026. The ambitious goal is for Dubai to become the world’s leading city commercially adopting agentic AI by 2028.
What Companies Will Gain
The courses, delivered through Dubai Chambers Academy’s e-learning platform, offer practical guidance on implementing agentic AI within operations, enhancing efficiency, productivity, and decision-making processes. Details like syllabus, duration, and completion targets remain undisclosed.
A Program with a Timeline
The May announcement outlined four commitments:
- Training tracks for every business council
- Establishing incubators for agentic AI startups
- Creating new economic opportunities for young people
- Securing dedicated funds to support the transition
A six-person executive committee, chaired by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori and including Omar Sultan Al Olama (UAE’s Minister for AI), was formed in June to oversee delivery of these initiatives.
The Future Remains Unfolding
While training has commenced, incubators and funds are still in the planning stages, with no concrete details or financial commitments announced yet. This is a crucial phase as while training is relatively inexpensive, securing capital for startups can be challenging.
Dubai, however, has a proven track record in this area, with existing projects like Baidu’s robotaxis already operational on its streets and the D33 economic agenda prioritizing digital transformation. G42, another nearby emirate, has even allowed US inspectors access to its data centers to ensure continued supply of American chips. The UAE is firmly committed to becoming an AI economy.
