Berlin geospatial-AI company LiveEO has secured €28 million in funding for its civil-infrastructure satellite technology, marking a significant milestone in its development. This round saw participation from defense VC Helantic, alongside Nordic Ninja, MMC, and the European Innovation Council (EIC).

The new funding will primarily support LiveEO's existing product line, which includes:

  • TradeAware: For EU Deforestation Regulation compliance.
  • Treeline: Vegetation management for utilities and rail operators.
  • SurfaceScout: Pipeline monitoring for the oil and gas industry.

LiveEO's platform has gained traction, serving clients across five continents. Their commercial strategy focuses on long-term monitoring contracts, API integrations, and AI-driven risk prioritization.

This funding round also underscores LiveEO's strategic shift in target customers. While previous rounds concentrated on civil infrastructure and climate applications, this new capital will enable them to cater to defense sectors as well.

The company recently unveiled its satellite constellation, Twinspector, designed for high-resolution imaging of infrastructure corridors. Reflex Aerospace is building the satellites, with support from the European Space Agency's InCubed program.

This latest funding comes on the heels of LiveEO's successful €25 million Series B round in 2024, also led by the same investor syndicate. The new investors include Helantic, EIC, b2ventures, Nordic Ninja, and several other deep tech and climate funds.

The strategic announcement is twofold: securing growth capital from renowned investors and revealing a shift in target markets. While the funding amount is substantial, it represents a measured step forward for LiveEO in its mission to revolutionize geospatial data accessibility and utility management.
