Meta has introduced an innovative privacy feature, called Incognito Chat, for its AI on WhatsApp and the Meta AI app. This mode addresses a significant concern regarding AI chatbots’ ability to access user conversations.
The New Incognito Chat Mode:
- Runs Meta AI within a secure environment known as Private Processing Enclave, ensuring no one, not even Meta, can access conversation data.
- Conversations are automatically deleted after each session, providing an added layer of privacy.
- Utilizes WhatsApp’s existing Private Processing system, which allows AI to process encrypted data securely.
Addressing Privacy Concerns:
AI chatbots have raised privacy concerns as they store conversation histories by default, exposing user data. Meta’s Incognito Chat mode distinguishes itself by ensuring:
- No one can see the questions or answers, setting it apart from other apps that claim incognito modes but still log user interactions.
