Navi, the Indian fintech founded by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, has secured a $100 million investment from Prosus, its first outside institutional funding. Sources indicate a post-money valuation of approximately $1.3 billion, lower than the $2 billion sought in 2024.

Founded eight years ago by Sachin Bansal and Ankit Agarwal in 2018, Navi offers a range of financial services, including digital payments, lending, insurance, and mutual funds. Headquartered in Bengaluru, the company has established itself as one of India’s largest payment apps, leveraging the government-backed Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
Investment Details:
Prosus, a Dutch technology investor with a strong background in consumer internet, has chosen to back Navi based on its substantial user base, diverse business lines, and technology-driven approach. The investment, however, represents a downward adjustment from Navi’s previous valuation target.
Navi’s Vision:
Bansal, who previously built Flipkart into India’s leading online retailer, has expressed his ambition to turn Navi into a bank. He stepped down as CEO in February 2025 but remains the executive chairman.
Prosus’ Investment Strategy:
Ashutosh Sharma, who leads Prosus’ India investments, highlighted Navi’s strong performance despite market challenges, describing the investment as a testament to Navi’s reach and team execution.
Regulatory Considerations:
The deal is subject to regulatory approval from bodies such as the Competition Commission of India, and it is contingent upon customary closing conditions.
