Revolut's Commercial Real Estate Lending Chief Exits
Revolut’s commercial real estate lending chief, Duncan Batty, who joined from M&G Investments in January 2025, has left the company, as revealed in Companies House filings and confirmed by a spokesperson.
His departure comes as Revolut (get the details) (explore this topic) rapidly expands across banking, wealth management, and payments, with a planned listing in about two years. While no reason for his exit was provided, this news follows the European Central Bank's order to slow down new product launches due to regulatory concerns.
Batty was instrumental in establishing Revolut's commercial property lending business, a small but growing segment within the company.
The company's aggressive expansion includes the launch of a private bank in Britain and parts of Europe, an Australian banking license, a United States bank charter application, and the introduction of a euro stablecoin. These moves point towards a planned dual listing on London and Nasdaq.
However, the UK commercial property market, unlike others, is not experiencing significant growth, with high inflation and interest rates dampening dealmaking activity.
