TikTok and YouTube Deactivate Millions of Child Accounts in Indonesia
The number arrives with the bluntness of a government tally. According to Indonesia’s communications minister, on June 25th, TikTok and YouTube deactivated approximately 4.7 million accounts belonging to children under 16 in the country. The majority of these deactivations came from one platform: TikTok deactivated 4.1 million accounts, while YouTube removed 600,000.
