Xiaomi’s First EV Reaches Half a Million Deliveries
Xiaomi’s SU7 sedan passed 500,000 cumulative deliveries on August 17, 2026, marking 28.5 months since the first unit was handed over. However, deliveries of the SU7 are down 43.6% this year, contrasting with Xiaomi’s overall volume increase of almost 15%.
This performance is even more notable considering Xiaomi aims to deliver 550,000 vehicles in 2026. They have reached 39% of their target after seven months, requiring approximately 67,000 deliveries per month for the remainder of the year.
While Xiaomi has a history of consistent delivery at 30,000 per month, two new factors aim to boost numbers:
- The Sky Nomad range introduces extended-range models with a petrol engine, targeting family buyers.
- Xiaomi plans to enter the European market in 2027, where Chinese brands already hold 14.2% of the battery electric vehicle market.
Despite these challenges, Xiaomi’s achievement of half a million deliveries for its first EV is significant.
