PerPlant Raises €1M to Bring AI Cameras to Tractors, Covering 200,000 Hectares

Copenhagen agtech, PerPlant, has secured €1 million (DKK 7.6 million) in funding led by Jytte Rosenmaj, chair of Agreena, and Kræn Østergaard Nielsen, former CEO of Coop Danmark. The round also includes non-dilutive funding from EIFO, the European Space Agency, and Innovation Fund Denmark.
The startup’s AI-powered system, installed on tractors, uses cameras to map farmland, enabling precise herbicide and fertilizer application, leading to significant cost savings and environmental benefits. PerPlant claims its technology has already covered 200,000 hectares of European farmland—nine times the combined coverage of all Danish agricultural drones.
The investment group highlights a potential yearly savings of DKK 269,000 per farm in herbicide and fertilizer costs. PerPlant’s sensors provide detailed documentation, aiding farmers in meeting EU regulations that tie subsidies to environmental performance.
Competitors like BBLeap are also developing precision-spraying technologies, but PerPlant has established itself across twelve countries with its edge processing technology, originally developed at KTH in Stockholm. With fifteen employees, the company aims to expand its footprint to the United States.
