Anthropic’s quarterly revenue passed $11.5bn, up more than 14-fold

Anthropic’s Revenue Surge and Upcoming Listing

Quarterly Revenue Exceeds $11.5 Billion

Anthropic has announced that its second-quarter revenue surpassed a significant milestone, reaching $11.5 billion. This marks a 14-fold increase compared to the same period last year, when they generated $787 million.

A Game-Changing Achievement

The company’s financial performance is even more impressive when considering the sequential jump. First-quarter revenue stood at $4.73 billion, leading to a roughly $16.2 billion total for the first half of 2026.

What sets Anthropic apart is its positive adjusted operating income during this quarter, a rare achievement among AI labs.

A New Disclosure Approach

What’s noteworthy about these figures is how they are presented. Unlike industry practice of using annualized run rates, Anthropic has provided actual completed quarter data and an operating income line to prospective investors.

The numbers align with a previously disclosed run rate of $47 billion, demonstrating consistency in their financial reporting.

Comparing with OpenAI

When compared to OpenAI, care must be taken due to differing calculation methods. While OpenAI reports a run rate exceeding $40 billion, Anthropic’s actual second-quarter revenue provides a clearer picture.

Aiming for a Listing

Anthropic has filed confidentially and is working with banks like Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan for an anticipated $2 trillion valuation in October. This timing strategically positions them before OpenAI and DeepSeek, both of which are also preparing for listings.

A Busy Market

This year’s market has seen significant activity, with $256.4 billion raised through initial public offerings (IPOs) excluding blank-check vehicles, the highest since 2021.
