Dongfeng’s Voyah launched the Passion S electric SUV on Friday, and the most notable aspect? It drove the car upside down.
The stunt involved the car completing a full loop around a tunnel ceiling in Wuhan at approximately 130km/h with 16 degrees of steering lock. Voyah asserts that a few kilometers per hour slower would have resulted in the car dropping.
The Passion S offers an 800V platform, Huawei’s latest lidar system, and advanced driver assistance, all starting at 229,900 yuan (roughly $33,800). The car boasts a range of 630 to 740km on a single charge and 5C charging, enabling it to reach 80% in ten minutes.
This launch is significant as Stellantis has agreed to bring Voyah cars to Europe, following their success in China where they’ve secured a record share of the electrified market.
Key Features:
- Powerful Performance: Dual-motor version produces 637hp and 765Nm, achieving 0 to 62mph in 4.5 seconds.
- Advanced Driver Assistance: Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5.0 with dual-path 896-line lidar and five 4D millimeter-wave radars.
- European Expansion: Joint venture agreement with Stellantis for European sales, already present in the Netherlands and Norway.
