ICEYE Secures €300M Revolving Credit Facility from Seven-Bank Syndicate

May 21, 2026 – 9:52 am

The Helsinki-headquartered synthetic-aperture-radar (SAR) satellite operator, ICEYE, has secured a €300 million three-year committed revolving credit facility (RCF). This funding is led by Citi and Danske Bank, with participation from a seven-bank syndicate.

ICEYE aims to use the RCF for:

  • Backing customer contract guarantees.
  • Supporting continued operating growth.
  • Serving as a liquidity backstop.

The company’s Global Head of Treasury, John Lauria, expressed satisfaction with the funding, highlighting its alignment with their rapid global expansion and growing demand for sovereign intelligence capabilities.

This new credit line builds upon ICEYE‘s recent financial achievements:

  • A €150 million Series E equity round closed in December 2024, led by General Catalyst.
  • A separate €158 million contract with the Finnish Defence Forces for SAR satellite supply, covering three satellites with options for additional units.

These financings, combined with strategic government contracts, position ICEYE to cater to European and Asia-Pacific defense customers’ multi-year procurement needs. The increasing demand for sovereign intelligence is driving this shift, especially after the US’s pause on intelligence-sharing with Ukraine in March 2025.

The competitive context lies within Europe’s broader defense-tech capital cycle, with Germany accounting for approximately 90% of the region’s record defense-tech funding over the past year.
