Zuckerberg announced on X on Monday:

“Today we are starting the next major pillar of our business, Meta Enterprise Platform.”

The unit will initially offer Meta’s full technology stack to businesses and developers, including:

  • Muse agent
  • Meta Business Agent
  • Muse API
  • Muse Code

It will leverage Meta’s AI models, agents, large-scale infrastructure, and years of work with businesses, according to Zuckerberg.

From MongoDB to Meta

Desai joins as chief enterprise platform officer and will report directly to Zuckerberg. He previously spent 11 months as MongoDB’s president and CEO, and previously led product and engineering at Cloudflare. He also spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as president and chief operating officer.

Desai noted on LinkedIn:

“Meta has a rare advantage in this transition.”

He highlighted Meta’s AI models, infrastructure, and agents, as well as its millions of advertisers and hundreds of millions of businesses it already serves.

Muse goes to work

The new unit will bring Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent, to corporate customers. Meta’s shares jumped 11% last week as investors bet on the agent’s success. Meta has also been testing human callers behind Muse, per Reuters.

Software Stocks and AI

Earlier this year, software stocks fell due to fears that AI tools would replace them, leading to talk of a “SaaSpocalypse.” However, Salesforce’s Marc Benioff has dismissed these fears as "crazy nonsense."
