Update, 29 September 2026: This article has been updated with OpenAI’s commitment not to reintroduce the five-hour limit on Pro 200.

OpenAI is halving the usage included in its $200 ChatGPT Pro plan and launching a $500 plan with its fastest speed tier. It also unveiled shared team workspaces, a meeting note-taker, and @ChatGPT for Slack and Microsoft Teams. These launches occurred at DevDay 2026 in San Francisco on Tuesday, attended by 2,500 developers.

They are part of OpenAI’s DevDay recap, along with always-on dots agents and its cheaper Sol model. Dots will not be available to Pro users in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the UK for now, according to a statement sent to press. With 1.2 billion weekly users and over 35 million people building with Work and Codex weekly, OpenAI believes AI can spark "a new renaissance of creativity and discovery."

Shared work in ChatGPT

ChatGPT Space replaces Library as a shared home for a team’s files and documents. Its main format is pages, a new type of document that teammates, ChatGPT, and dots can edit together. Pages update themselves from connected tools. Space is available on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans on web and desktop. Mobile users can view, read, and share pages, with editing coming soon.

Collaborative slides will be released in the next few weeks on the same plans. Teammates and agents can edit a deck simultaneously, then export it to PowerPoint or Google Slides. Business and Enterprise users can also form teams in ChatGPT and set up Team Tasks, which run on a schedule or when an event occurs, like a new message in a Slack channel.

Users can now mention @ChatGPT in Slack and Microsoft Teams channels, threads, and direct messages. Teammates don’t need their own ChatGPT license to use it; it asks for approval before taking action in connected tools, according to OpenAI’s product page.

A Meetings plugin takes notes on calls or in-person conversations without a bot joining. It is in beta for Mac desktop app users with Pro and Business plans. Users must inform everyone in the meeting and get their consent first, per OpenAI's help page. The app’s consent reminder is visible only to the user and does not notify others. OpenAI states it deletes the audio once the notes are ready.

Coding and developer tools

Codex can now run coding tasks in the cloud, where each task continues working while the developer’s computer sleeps. The Codex command-line tool was also refreshed, allowing users to start and manage tasks with their voice and track multiple at once. A new Code Review experience in the desktop app summarizes changes and flags potential issues before sending feedback to GitHub or GitLab.

Codex Security Cloud scans GitHub repositories, checks for new commits, and prepares fixes. It includes access to OpenAI’s Daybreak Blue models. The Agents API now supports computer use, enabling developers to build agents that work in an OpenAI-hosted browser. A limited preview of the Decisions API uses Luna to select answers from a predefined set.

OpenAI partnered with Amazon to launch Bedrock Managed Agents in limited preview, allowing companies to run OpenAI agents entirely within AWS. Customer data remains within AWS and never leaves.
