Uvi Raises $7.5M to Provide AI Agents with Company Context
Uvi, a startup focused on integrating company knowledge into AI agents, has emerged from stealth with $7.5 million in seed funding. CT Innovations and Cardumen led the round, with Mana VC, 91 Ventures, and Gaingles VC also participating.
Uvi aims to use these funds to build a US team, boost sales, and continue developing its product. They claim that each AI agent starts without any understanding of the company it operates within, as information is often scattered across various tools.
How Uvi Works
Uvi's software connects disparate pieces of information, allowing AI models like Claude, Gemini, and GPT to understand the context of decisions and their rationale. It integrates with Slack, Jira, Confluence, codebases, coding sessions, and meeting notes.
Employees can access only information they already have access to, and each answer includes its original source, according to the company. Uvi emphasizes that this approach allows for greater flexibility as companies can switch models without having to retrain them on company-specific knowledge.
Competitive Advantage
Uvi's testing shows that company-built agents cost about eight times as much and take more than twice as long to respond, with an estimated cost per answer of $0.75 to $1.41 compared to Uvi's $0.10 to $0.16.
"Today, the conversation has shifted to cost and tokens. But as companies move into more complex agentic workloads, the real bottleneck becomes speed," stated Gilad Salinger, Uvi's CEO and co-founder.
Users
Uvi is already utilized by notable companies such as Lemonade, monday.com, and Melio (acquired by Xero for $2.5 billion).
"Every enterprise we talk to has already spent a year and a real budget trying to build context-at-scale, and most are still very far away," said Gwen Cheni, managing partner at CT Innovations' Venture IQ Fund.
